Holly Caliri set out to solve problems, and payments turned out to be where some of the hardest ones lived.

Her career spans decades at the intersection of technology and financial services from early banking conversions and one of the first network-branded Visa check cards, to thirteen years building one of the industry's leading healthcare payments platforms. Along the way, she developed a unique talent in translating between the people who need a solution and the people who build one.

That talent is why co-founders Steven Nigri and Walter Hoffamann brought her to NXTMOVES. What made her stay was the people, and the fact that the work is not only challenging, but rewarding.

"If it was easy, I wouldn't be here," she says. "I came here to climb a mountain and feel a sense of accomplishment — not just at reaching the top, but every foot up." She is driven by “creating order out of chaos.”

As Head of Money-Out Solutions, Holly lives at the intersection of what the platform needs to do and how to actually build it. She describes it as ripping open the box, taking the parts out, and assembling them into something legible — so engineers and business teams on either side of the problem can finally see the full picture. Half of her work is figuring out how things work. The other half is figuring out how they need to work.

"What NXTMOVES is building is a home," she says — where banks, clients, processors, and partners can all coexist in one place, with everything they need and nothing they don't.

Outside the work, Holly is drawn to hard things and seems to thrive in the chaos that comes with building something new. When the startup waves keep coming, it’s the team around her that keeps her grounded and moving forward.

"Every single day, I see people who are buried, who are stressed, who still take the time to say, 'I see that you're struggling. What can I do?' That is a special kind of magic."
At NXTMOVES, we are glad Holly chose the hard thing, because building something this meaningful takes exactly the kind of person she is.
